This year's NGS day was as busy as ever. The day was blessed with good weather, so the terrace was packed with people enjoying tea and cake in the sun. The Mayor and Mayoress of Hertsmere, Peter Rutledge and Jane West, attended, visited all the stalls and left with armfuls of plants. Dr K C Sham explained how he kept bees at Reveley and sold his honey from the Reveley hives. There were plant stalls aplenty and an exhibition of paintings painted in the garden as part of the art challenge. Over 360 adults attended (and exactly 400 bodies if you include children and the eleven dogs) and £2,596 raised for the NGS charities - Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and Parkinson’s UK. It was a very enjoyable and worthwhile day.
