Lampshade Making Workshop – Wednesday, 21 May 2025, 10:30-14:30

Opportunity to come along and make your very own professional lampshade. In this workshop you will learn how to make a stunning and professional lampshade with your own fabric. There are 3 different size options to choose from and choice of a white interior or metallic copper interior.

  • A 20 cm drum shade is ideal for a table lamp or a small single bedroom, for example as a ceiling pendant light for a small room.
  • A 30 cm drum shade is ideal for most table lamps or as a ceiling pendant light.
  • A 40 cm drum shade is ideal for either a standard lamp, a ceiling pendant for a large room or for a large table lamp.

All you need to do is bring along your own chosen fabric. Choose from a medium weight printed cotton, Calico or a printed velvet work very well, or alternatively you can go for a thin printed cotton, just nothing with a stretch to it. You could even recycle some curtains or an old deckchair fabric for example or go fabric shopping. We can iron it and cut it to size on the day. Below is a list of the size of fabric that you will need depending on the size of your choice:

  • 20 cm shade = 80 cm wide x 30 cm depth
  • 30 cm shade = 110 cm wide x 35 cm depth
  • 40 cm shade = 140 cm wide x 40 cm depth

Options & Prices:

  • A 20 cm single sided shade (with a plain white lining to the inside) is £45.
  • A 30 cm single sided shade (with a plain white lining to the inside) is £48.
  • A 30 cm metallic copper lined shade is £50.
  • A 40 cm single sided shade (with a plain white lining to the inside) is £50.
  • Or a 40 cm metallic copper lined shade is £52.

You will go home feeling proud with your gorgeous lampshade. They make a real difference to your home adding a bold focal point or pop of colour without decorating the whole room.

There is no parking on site but you can park either on Elstree Road, Caldecote Gardens or Clay Lane.
